"The 2-4 can't work in the B1G." We've ran it for a decade. "The spread won't work in the B1G." Every other team in the B1G uses it. "We need to go back to the pro style." Pro style works when you have pro talent.
If you don't want to learn I don't want to try and teach.
Time for a hiatus. My numbers are way down. I'm not a pundit and annoyingly the only types of videos that gain any traction are opinions and pontifications and I can't do it week after week because I would just be repeating myself.
This isn't a call for a pity party.
This is the reality that this experiment isn't working and I need to figure out what to do next.
So will there be Iowa breakdowns...at some point. I will finish what I started, but football is a game and games are supposed to be fun. I need to find my passion for football again.
I appreciate the kind words and the loyal viewership. This isn't goodbye...it's see you later! I promised myself when football became a chore I would step back. It has been my life for the past 23 years (32 years if you add my playing days) and I don't want to be one of those people who hated their job. So I'm going to take some time doing the things that made me love the sport and hopefully reignite the passion again. Some wins on the field and/or the recruiting trail will help with that along with just some rest.
I'll be back!
I haven’t upgraded yet because we are still dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene where I live, and it’s expensive. I will really miss your commentary, as you are more closely aligned with my feelings about the Badger football team than anyone else I’ve been reading since Luke Fickell was hired. That is, it takes time, especially when you’re upgrading the offensive and defensive schemes and recruiting the right players to implement them.
I always marvel at the vitriolic comments from the keyboard warriors who want everyone fired and to start over because “nothing is working and we would be better off with Chryst and Leonhard.” I just want you to know I have appreciated your responses to those who would have had their pitchforks out in Barry’s second year because he didn’t start winning seasons until his fourth year. The current crop of toddlers (love that apt description!) probably weren’t old enough then to understand some things require patience.
I certainly understand you not wanting to continue spending time writing if people aren’t reading, but I am one who appreciated your point of view and will miss it.
